A crying infant Home > What is Infant Reflux > Symptoms

Some symptoms you may be noticing in your little one:

• Extreme fussiness or chronic crying
• Arching of back when laid flat (“c-shape”)
• Difficulty getting a burp
• Frequent spitting up or “projectile vomiting”
• Difficulty sleeping
• Poor weight gain
• Small, frequent feeding
• Frequent coughing/ gagging / choking

If your baby stops crying in the car seat or stroller, this may often be another indicator of possible reflux, or if your baby cries immediately when laid down e.g. on the changing table. Infants with reflux respond well to vertical positioning which is one way to reduce symptoms.
